Conversations Live: Impact of the Budget Impasse

Governor Tom Wolf announced that he’d allow a budget closure package to pass, but without his signature, saying he still thinks the budget is unsound. The Pennsylvania state budget impasse lasted 266 days. Patty Satalia discusses what caused this historic standoff, its impact on schools and nonprofits, and what it means for future budget negotiations with guests Robert Strauss, a professor of economics and public policy at Carnegie Mellon University; Rick Roush, dean of Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences; and G. Terry Madonna, director of the Franklin and Marshall College Poll.
