Understanding and Preventing Suicide
Patty Satalia and guest experts discuss suicide, its stigma, effects, and effective prevention.
You could make the case that kids in the United States are safer now than at any point in modern history. Child mortality rates have fallen by nearly half since 1990. According to the FBI, reports of missing children dropped 40% between 1997 and 2014. Even the most common cause of accidental death among children younger than 13, motor vehicle crashes, has dropped 76% since 1975. But if you’re a parent, not of those stats is going to make you sleep any better at night. Being a parent is hard work, it’s stressful. You constantly worry about your child’s safety, health, and happiness.
Our panel has a conversation about parenting and children, answering viewer questions and providing information on where parents can turn for good advice.
