Spanish is on the rise in the United States, but not in a simplistic way. Immigration and bilingualism (among Latinos and non-Latinos) both increase the usage of Spanish in the U.S. But, just as Spanish is on the rise, there is also tremendous growth of English dominant Latinos: the majority of U.S. Latinos are native born; more and more Latinos are English dominant or monolingual English speakers.
