Participate in the WPSU Education Ambassador Program

The WPSU Education Ambassador cohort is an exciting opportunity to join educators across the region through enriching professional development, peer-to-peer connection, and ongoing support from your local PBS and NPR public media station. Join WPSU’s Education Ambassador Program as a steward of quality media integration.

Apply by September 19, 2025. Limited spots available!

Why Participate?

Whether you’re interested in deepening your knowledge of media literacy or looking to strengthen your role as a community connector for your school and the families you serve, the WPSU Education Ambassador program offers a variety of opportunities to support your needs.

By participating in this cohort you will…

  • LEARN best practices of media literacy and ways to integrate the concepts into your practice. You’ll also explore how to best utilize all the high-quality, accessible educational media from WPSU and PBS.
  • Walk away with a full collection of PBS branded INCENTIVES to share with fellow educators, students, and families.
  • Join a NETWORK of like-minded educators that are looking for opportunities to equip learners with the skills to engage meaningfully with media. Receive up to 9 hours of Act 48 credit through the initial in-person training and ongoing meet-ups.

Who Should Apply?

We invite any educator, within WPSU’s coverage area, (see Coverage Map), that supports PreK-12 students and/or their families, other educators, or entire school systems to join. This could be…

  • Classroom teachers and homeschool educators
  • Library media specialists
  • Technology and instructional coaches
  • Department leads, curriculum specialists, and administrators

What’s Required?

As a participant in this cohort you will be asked to…

  • JOIN us for a full day hands-on professional development training on Thursday, October 16, 2025, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.* at WPSU Studios (State College, PA), followed by three meet-ups (virtual and in-person) throughout the year to check back in with your fellow WPSU Ambassadors. Receive up to 9 hours of Act 48 credit for the 2025-2026 school year!
  • IMPLEMENT at least one engagement activity for students/families OR a training for educators during 2024-2025 school year that incorporates WPSU/PBS resources. WPSU education team will offer examples during the October 16th training and support throughout the year.

Interested?

Complete this registration form by September 19, 2025.

We recommend you join with at least one other educator in your school district. We feel that this creates a stronger support system in implementing media integration into instruction.
