Shaun Knight & Christa Stofferahn: Maine Bay & Berry
Maine Bay & Berry in State College has its roots in co-owner Shaun Knight’s childhood along the coast of Maine. When he’d go back to visit family, he’d often bring coolers back full of lobster, scallops and blueberries to share with friends. He and Christa Stofferahn met while working at Penn State’s Smeal College of Business, and on a summer trip to Maine in 2017, it seemed clear that they had a solid business idea. By Christmas, they were selling seafood in frigid temperatures, and they’ve been bringing the flavors of Maine (and products from local businesses) to central Pennsylvania ever since.
