Coronovirus UPDATE 3.16.20

Dear Fellow Board Members –

I’m writing to update you on WPSU operations in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
As you may know, almost all other university-related events have been cancelled through April 6. WPSU management is working with their staff to accommodate telecommuting for those whose responsibilities can be accomplished outside of the office and a large percentage of the staff will work from home during this time. That said, staff members that support essential broadcast services on TV and FM will continue to come into the building to ensure ongoing operations and service.
Management is urging all staff to stay home and not come in at all if they are showing any signs of illness. WPSU will be undertaking extra efforts to clean and disinfect the work surfaces in the radio suite each day — an area that will be staffed (at a lower level) because of its unique service and operation.
We all know that the situation is changing at a rapid pace and management is dedicated to keeping everyone safe and healthy while continuing to provide an essential community service. I, for one, applaud their efforts and truly appreciate the dedication and hard work that WSPU staff and volunteers contribute each day towards the mission of public media.
Thanks, and stay safe.
All the best,
Greg
