Flight of the Fly

Flight of the Fly

From airplanes to drones, humans have been engineering aircraft for more than 100 years. But all of those inventions start to look pretty simple when you start to study the flight of insects. Based on what we know about flight, insects like the fly should drop like a rock. A group of Penn State scientists led by Bo Cheng are trying to figure out why it doesn’t. Watch to discover what they learn.

Funding for this project was provided by The National Science Foundation, U.S. Army Research Office and The Pennsylvania State University.
