Incumbent Republican John Joyce’s campaign did not respond to multiple requests for an interview. The district covers several counties in southcentral Pennsylvania, including Blair and Huntingdon counties and parts of Cambria and Westmoreland counties.

Kerry Benninghoff is the Republican candidate running for this seat against Democrat Peter Buck in the general election this year. Benninghoff has held the seat for 23 years and is currently the Pennsylvania House Majority Leader. He was the Centre County Coroner before becoming a state representative and previously worked at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Margie Brown is the Democratic candidate running for this seat against Republican Cris Dush in the general election this year. Brown is a St. Marys City Council member and serves as the Vice Chair for the Rural Caucus of the state Democratic Party.
