Support “Beyond the Finish Line”
On it’s surface, Special Olympics is an inclusive global sports movement for individuals with intellectual disabilities. But Special Olympics is more that sports…much more.
The Inclusive Health program provides free health screenings for all athletes. Through fitness and nutrition education, Special Olympics is helping make this a healthier world. And when given training and opportunity, people of all abilities can become leaders for inclusion.
WPSU, in partnership with Special Olympics North America and Special Olympics Pennsylvania is actively producing this hour-long documentary. Throughout 2025 and into 2026, crews will document several athletes and volunteers from around the country as they work towards the goal of competing at the Special Olympics USA Games in June of 2026. This story goes beyond wins and losses, it’s the story of a shared commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and celebrating individual abilities through sports and community.
“Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt”.
