Bridge Safety
The horrifying images of Minnesota's bridge collapse last summer raise a frightening question: Could it happen in Pennsylvania? Pennsylvania has more than 25,000 state-owned bridges. Nearly six thousand of them are categorized as "structurally deficient," or in need of repair. How long will it take to fix or replace them? And where will the money come from?

Heart Health
When it comes to surviving a heart attack, minutes matter! Each year, about 1.1 million Americans suffer a heart attack; more than forty percent are fatal. Cutting Disorder
For most people, the idea of cutting yourself is incomprehensible. But for an estimated two to three million Americans, self-injury helps them feel calm and in control. The majority of people who self-injure are women between the ages of 13 and 30, but there are "cutters" of every age, gender, and economic group. State of the University 2007
He oversees one of the nation's largest and most comprehensive universities, and Pennsylvania's second largest employer. He's been on the job for more than 12 years. At twice the national average, it's one of the longest tenures of any public-university president. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Exposure to a severely traumatic event can cause nightmares, flashbacks and difficulty sleeping. For most people, these post-traumatic symptoms disappear over time. For others, the symptoms become chronic and lead to PTSD.
