RosaCara is a new chamber duo created by Rosalyn Troiano, viola, and Asa Carns, piano and organ. RosaCara performs chamber music for viola and keyboard from a variety of sources and styles, including original works and transcriptions.

Rosalyn TroianaRosalyn Troiano, is a Lecturer in Music at Juniata College, where she teaches studio violin and viola and directs the Juniata College Sinfonia, the college string ensemble. She is also the String Director of the Sate College Suzuki Program. Originally from the Tuscarora Indian Reservation in Sanborn, New York, Rosalyn received her Bachelor's degree in viola from the Cleveland Institute of Music and as master's degree from the Eastman School of Music. As violist with the Chagall Quartet, Rosalyn performed frequently in Johnstown, Somerset and Indiana, Pennsylvania as part of Chamber Music America's Rural Residency Program.

Asa CarnsAsa Carns is the Director of Music at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Altoona and is the accompanist for the State College Choral Society. A native of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Asa was the first student to double major in both Sacred Organ Performance and Piano Performance at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. He attended the Berliner Kirchenmusikschule in West Germany for two years where he studied organ and piano. He has performed on many historic and celebrated pipe organs throughout the world, including Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, West Germany and Ireland, as accompanist for touring choirs of Juniata College, PA Chamber Chorale and the Regent Chorale.

RosaCara has performed in Altoona, as guest artists for the Lenten Lunch Break Recital Series at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and has given recitals at Juniata College in Huntingdon. Future projects include the exploration, research and performance of 19th and 20th century original works for viola and organ.
